Open Season

When I asked how many extra people were expected in town for next week’s Open Championship, I was told “Not many. They’ll all go to Chester or Liverpool.”

Even the hopes of Hoylake’s new restaurants and bars was played down by explaining that once on the course, visitors would not be able to leave and would have to buy all their food and drink on site.

Hopefully, this information will prove to be wrong, and money from the expected 200,000 visitors to our area will be rolling through the local tills.
